Kurrajong Ridge Farmhouse
Travis a residential builder, and Kate a lover of design with now enough experience under her belt, set out to custom build their dream home after securing a large 10-acre lot in the Kurrajong Hills of the Hawkesbury Valley, perfect to raise their three boys.
The vision was to design a home that integrates the Australian landscape that exudes warmth and comfort for the family to grow up in. This was achieved through balancing the welcoming ambiance of a farmhouse while incorporating sleek and contemporary touches.
“TradCo’s quality made products, diverse range and fitting farmhouse style aesthetic was the ideal choice for our home.”
Drawing inspiration from the charm of Southern American farmhouses, they designed a single level modern farmhouse. 600sqm in size, including wide verandas and a semi attached garage. A distinct feature of the home includes a pitched roof to enable a raked ceiling through the main living area of the home.
A neutral colour palette was utilised to suit the harsh Australian climate while maintaining just enough contrast to have the house stand out from the rural setting of eucalyptus trees and open blue skies.
Due to specific bush fire requirements, privacy locks and security features were essential for the home’s design. When it came to picking hardware, TradCo’s quality made products, diverse range and fitting farmhouse style aesthetic was the ideal choice for the home.
The look and feel of the Kurrajong Ridge farmhouse was perfectly captured with TradCo’s rich Antique Brass finish which was chosen for all door hardware and accessories within the property.
